CONFERENCE: Technology? IT’s a girl!
Technology is a woman? Absolutely! As we look to the future of technology, we do not forget its pioneers. The herstory of computer science includes many heroines whose contribution to the development of this field is invaluable. It is enough to mention Margaret Hamilton, who developed the on-board software code for the Apollo mission, Grace Hopper – the author of the first compiler for the UNIVAC-I computer, or the Six from Eniac (ENIAC Six) – a team of women who programmed the first modern computer.
At ALTEN Polska, we appreciate the strength that diversity brings to our organization. We make sure that the work environment is conducive to both professional development and career-life balance, which is particularly important for women returning after maternity leave.
We also know that women’s contribution to the development of innovative solutions that change the face of the world is invaluable, and at the same time often marginalized. We break stereotypes and actively support our experts, giving them the opportunity to present their knowledge at industry events. One example is the Technology? IT’s a girl! conference – a platform created for technology specialists who want to share experiences and establish valuable contacts.

The Technology? IT’s a girl! event is a space created to showcase the power and diversity of female voices in the technology industry; a space for exchanging experiences, mutual inspiration, and networking. It is a platform for professional development, breaking stereotypes, and broadening the perspective in the dominant industry discourse. The first edition took place in March 2024 in Krakow.

Who is the event aimed at?
We invite people interested in new technologies, experts from the industry, as well as people studying computer science or considering changing their career and looking for inspiration and new contacts. We want our event to become a platform for discussion and exchange of experiences and to create a support network for women (and not only!) from the technology industry.
What can you expect?
Part 1 – thematic lectures
Part 2 – discussion panel
The event will feature female leaders in the technology business, experts from the IT and engineering industries – inspiring women, specialists and enthusiasts who prove every day that innovative technologies also have a feminine face. We will talk about the challenges posed to business by digital transformation, the female perspective on the technological world, and the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the industry in the context of the human-interface relationship. The diverse topics guarantee that you will easily find your way around our event.
After the substantive part, we invite you to networking. This is a great opportunity to share your observations, ask questions to the speakers or establish new industry contacts.
