Web and Mobile Application for NTP Support

Project Title: Web and Mobile Application for NTP Support
Client: Elproma Elektronika Sp. z o.o.
Industry: Industrial Equpiment & Electronics
Expertise: Application Development
Scope of the project: Development of software enabling nationwide monitoring of NTP server synchronization
Tools: Java 17, Angular, Spring Boot, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes
NTP (Network Time Protocol) is a network protocol that enables precise synchronization of computer clocks across wide and local area networks. With NTP, devices can synchronize their time with millisecond-level accuracy to a reference clock, which is crucial for systems requiring time consistency.
The task of the ALTEN Polska (formerly Solwit) team was to design and test a web and mobile application supporting the synchronization of NTP servers on a nationwide scale. The project required integration with the client’s systems to ensure reliability in synchronization and data security.
The expertise focused on designing and implementing scalable IT solutions that had to meet strict performance, security, and timely delivery requirements.
Project Scope
The client aimed to create a solution enabling precise control over the synchronization of NTP servers using web and mobile technologies. Ensuring system security, compliance with international standards, and an optimized architecture capable of operating in both cloud and on-premises environments were crucial. ALTEN Polska was responsible for comprehensive software development, testing, and delivering documentation and support for end-users.
Project Execution
The project was executed using an agile methodology (Scrum) with 2-week sprints. A team of 10 developers and 3 testers collaborated closely with the client, regularly discussing progress and implementing necessary adjustments. The technologies used included Java 17, Angular, PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud Platform, which, combined with the client’s bare metal infrastructure, provided flexibility in managing system load.
The system was designed to meet the highest security standards, utilizing solutions such as Cloud Armor for protection against DDoS, XSS, and SQL injection attacks. Components were deployed in Kubernetes clusters, enabling scalability and redundancy across different regions.
Final Outcome
ALTEN Polska delivered a fully tested system 4 months ahead of schedule. The solution includes three environments: development, testing, and production, supporting high availability and cybersecurity. By leveraging cloud technologies and ready-to-use GCP components, the system achieved the required performance and security while optimizing costs.
Comprehensive project documentation and detailed user manuals, provided in both text and multimedia formats, facilitated seamless system adoption by administrators and end-users. The e-CzasPL solution now supports public administration in managing time synchronization.
Summary
The project for Elproma Elektronika Sp. z o.o. demonstrated ALTEN Polska’s ability to deliver advanced IT systems that meet the highest quality and deadline requirements. Agile collaboration and the team’s expertise contributed to the delivery of a comprehensive solution that enhances the client’s operational efficiency and security.
