Application Maintenance for Enhanced Fleet Management
Project Title: Application Maintenance and Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) Integration for Enhanced Fleet Management
Client: Global Technology Leader in Utilities, Industry, and Infrastructure
Industry: Energy & Environment
Expertise: Application Development
Scope of the project: Application Development
Tools: Docker, Selenium, Azure, JIRA, Azure DevOps
Application maintenance is an ongoing process of support, monitoring, and optimization that helps address technical issues in real time and ensures the stability of software performance.
Implementing new functionality for RTUs (Remote Terminal Units) involves expanding the application with modules that allow remote unit management—crucial for effective supervision and control of devices in the energy sector.
The project, managed by the ALTEN Polska team, involved enhancing the fleet management application with features for managing RTU devices, widely used in the energy industry. As a result, the application gained in functionality, security, and stability. With ALTEN’s support, the project encompassed both the management of the existing application version and the development of a new version, improving performance control and the smooth operation of the solution.
Project Overview
The project began with ALTEN Polska assuming full responsibility for application maintenance and the implementation of RTU-related functionalities. The team focused on eliminating technical issues and security vulnerabilities, ensuring the application’s full stability and compliance with security requirements. The team then started developing a new version of the application featuring a modern architecture and enhanced functionalities.
By utilizing tools such as Docker, Selenium, and Azure DevOps, ALTEN optimized the application deployment cycle and automated the testing process. The seamless migration between the old and new application versions was facilitated through regular updates, avoiding downtime and ensuring continuity for end users.
Final Outcome
The project concluded successfully, enabling the application to handle more devices concurrently, improving performance and security. The new version also introduced a revamped interface and optimized UX/UI, enhancing user experience. The update process was smooth and transparent for end users, maintaining stability and operational continuity.
Summary
Collaboration with the ALTEN Polska team provided measurable benefits for the client: the application is now more efficient, stable, and secure, facilitating scalable fleet management. The client appreciated ALTEN’s professionalism and effectiveness, entrusting them with complete responsibility for application development and management. With an efficient partnership and technology supporting sustainable mobility and smart cities, ALTEN’s solution is a foundation for further digital infrastructure development
